Octopussy in Reflection, a design which gave me the opportunity to paint him twice in one picture and get away with it! It allows an almost 3 dimensional view of his head all at once. From any angle or position Octopussy is an inspiration, always a joy to observe, draw and paint.

A background of peacocks seemed the obvious choice to reflect his vanity. This is not the first time he has admired his own image in a mirror surface, he finds puddles just as good.

Born a Leo, Octopussy has most of the positive and proud attributes associated with this sign, his sister Motley was the same but in a more relaxed and fun loving sort of way. They both have a right to Pride, sharing a famous mother, Agneatha, whose image was recently replicated from my paintings of her, by Steiff, for their renowned collector range. There are lots of Agneathas now all over the world.! Here, Octopussy is thoughtfully basking in reflected glory, and is in no doubt whatsoever that his father was a Lion.
